Dynasit® LIFE PLUS – a higher level of active sitting

Dynasit® LIFE PLUS is an inflatable orthopaedic cushion with a dual-chamber insert designed for active and dynamic sitting. The two air chambers respond independently to changes in position and shifts in body weight, creating more varied and intensive dynamic movement than a standard single-chamber cushion.

LIFE PLUS is designed for users who want to engage their core muscles more actively while sitting, improve stability and perform simple movement exercises without having to leave their workstation.

How does the dual-chamber system work?

When you change position or shift your body weight, each air chamber responds to the load. The body must continuously respond to the resulting gentle movements and stabilise its position.

The level of dynamic movement can be adjusted by changing the amount of air. A less inflated cushion provides gentler movement and greater comfort. More air increases the intensity of the dynamic movement and the demands on stabilisation.

The cushion should not be fully inflated. The correct setting should provide comfortable sitting and natural movement without a feeling of excessive instability.

Contraindications

Dynasit LIFE PLUS is not suitable for people with acute inflammatory conditions of the musculoskeletal or nervous system or for those experiencing dizziness.

In the case of unhealed fractures of the coccyx, spine or pelvis, do not use the cushion without the approval of your treating physician. If you have unexplained health problems, consult a doctor or physiotherapist before using the cushion.

Instructions for use

How to start with active sitting?

Place the cushion flat on the chair seat. Inflate the cushion so that sitting is comfortable and the level of movement is appropriate for your abilities.

Sit approximately in the centre of the cushion. Place your feet flat on the floor and keep your knees at approximately a right angle. Sit in a relaxed position and perform only gentle, controlled movements.

When first using the cushion, start with it slightly inflated and use it for approximately 5 to 10 minutes at a time. Once your body becomes accustomed to the dual-chamber dynamics, gradually increase the duration and intensity of use.

Simple exercises while sitting

While sitting on the cushion, you can perform gentle pelvic movements forwards and backwards, from side to side, or in small controlled circles. Perform the movements slowly and smoothly, and only within a comfortable range.

Use the cushion as a complement to natural movement. It does not replace regular breaks, changes in position, walking or exercise away from the chair.

Muscle response to active sitting

When first using the cushion, you may experience mild fatigue or muscle tension in the trunk and lower back, as these muscles may not yet be accustomed to active sitting. In this case, reduce the duration of use or decrease the amount of air and increase the load gradually.

Using the cushion should not cause significant, sharp or persistent pain. If the pain worsens or you experience numbness, dizziness or other unpleasant symptoms, stop using the cushion and consult a doctor or physiotherapist.

Care and maintenance

Do not wash the cushion in a washing machine! The sitting surface can be easily cleaned with a brush and soap. Do not sew anything onto the cushion! This could damage the inflatable part of the cushion. Keep away from sharp objects. Use the cushion at ambient temperatures between 8–40 ºC.
