Dynasit^® LIFE AIR - orthopaedic cushion for active sitting on a standard chair 

Dynasit® LIFE AIR is an inflatable orthopaedic cushion designed for active and dynamic sitting. Placing it on a standard office, home or school chair creates a slightly unstable sitting surface that allows natural changes in position without the need to sit on a large exercise ball.

The gentle movement of air inside the cushion responds to body movements and encourages active muscle engagement while sitting. The level of dynamic movement can be easily adjusted by changing the amount of air in the cushion.

How does Dynasit® LIFE AIR work?

The cushion is based on a single-chamber inflatable insert. With every small change in position, the air inside the insert shifts, creating gentle dynamic movement. The body naturally responds to these movements by engaging muscles that help stabilise the sitting position.

The movement is subtle and does not interfere with working, reading or studying. The cushion allows you to remain active during activities that would otherwise involve prolonged periods of static sitting.

Contraindications

Dynasit LIFE AIR is not suitable for people with acute inflammatory conditions of the musculoskeletal or nervous system or for those experiencing dizziness.

In the case of unhealed fractures of the coccyx, spine or pelvis, do not use the cushion without the approval of your treating physician. If you have unexplained health problems, consult a doctor or physiotherapist before using the cushion.

Instructions for use

How to start with active sitting?

Place the cushion flat on the chair seat and inflate it only enough to ensure comfortable sitting and gentle movement. Too much air increases instability and may reduce comfort.

Sit approximately in the centre of the cushion. Place your feet flat on the floor and keep your knees at approximately a right angle. Sit in a relaxed position and regularly change your position naturally.

When first using the cushion, start with approximately 5 to 10 minutes at a time. Once your body becomes accustomed to dynamic sitting, gradually increase the duration of use.

When first using the cushion, you may experience mild fatigue or muscle tension in the trunk and lower back, as these muscles may not yet be accustomed to active sitting. In this case, reduce the duration of use or decrease the amount of air in the cushion.

Using the cushion should not cause significant, sharp or persistent pain. If the pain worsens or you experience numbness, dizziness or other unpleasant symptoms, stop using the cushion and consult a doctor or physiotherapist.

Care and maintenance

Do not wash the cushion in a washing machine! The sitting surface can be easily cleaned with a brush and soap. Do not sew anything onto the cushion! This could damage the inflatable part of the cushion. Keep away from sharp objects. Use the cushion at ambient temperatures between 8–40 ºC.
