Dynasit® U – relief when sitting during sensitive periods

Dynasit® U is a specially shaped inflatable sitting cushion designed to relieve pressure on the coccyx, rectal area, perineum and pelvic floor. The anatomical opening reduces direct pressure on sensitive areas, while the air-filled design allows the firmness of the cushion to be adjusted according to the individual needs of the user.

The cushion combines two functions: it provides pressure relief for sensitive areas while maintaining the benefits of dynamic, active sitting.

Who is Dynasit® U designed for?

During pregnancy

Increasing body weight and changes in the pelvic area can cause uncomfortable pressure on the coccyx, rectal area and pelvic floor. The anatomical shape of Dynasit U helps relieve pressure on these areas while sitting and allows more comfortable sitting at home, at work and while travelling.

The gentle movement of air inside the cushion promotes the natural activity of the core and pelvic floor muscles without the need to perform conscious exercises.

• helps relieve back and muscle pain caused by increased body weight
• strengthens the pelvic floor, which may help prevent pregnancy-related urinary incontinence 

Immediately after childbirth

After childbirth, an episiotomy or another injury, ordinary sitting may be painful and uncomfortable. The anatomical opening of Dynasit U helps reduce direct pressure on the perineum and surrounding sensitive tissues, providing greater comfort while sitting and during everyday care of the baby.

While caring for a newborn.

Dynasit® U can help the mother find a more comfortable position while breastfeeding or feeding her baby, particularly during the sensitive period immediately after childbirth.

• A gently inclined and stable position may help the baby maintain a comfortable position during feeding and contribute to calmer feeding. However, Dynasit U is not a medical device intended for the treatment or prevention of reflux.
• While the baby is awake and under the direct supervision of an adult, the shape of the cushion helps stabilise the baby's position, reduce unintended rolling and, by alternating the position of the head, reduce prolonged one-sided pressure on the head.
• When a baby begins to lift themselves onto their forearms or hands while lying on their tummy, they naturally engage the muscles of the back, shoulders and abdomen. During appropriate and supervised exercise, Dynasit U can provide gentle support and encourage gradual muscle loading according to the child's stage of development.

Use the cushion with a baby only while the baby is awake and under continuous adult supervision. It is not intended for sleeping or for leaving the baby unattended.

After gynaecological and surgical procedures.

Dynasit® U is also suitable as a supportive aid following procedures involving the external genital area, pelvis or rectal area, as well as after haemorrhoid surgery. Its shape helps relieve pressure on the operated or sensitive area while maintaining stable and comfortable sitting.

User testing results.

User testing of Dynasit U was conducted from September to December 2013 at the Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics of the Central Military Hospital SNP Ružomberok. The cushion was tested by 41 women following childbirth or a gynaecological procedure.

Test results:
• 95.1% of women reported reduced pain while using Dynasit U,
• the average subjective level of relief was 5.22 points out of 10,
• 92.7% of women considered the cushion necessary or very necessary after childbirth or surgery,
• 100% of women were satisfied with the size, shape and surface material,
• none of the women tested reported problems maintaining balance while sitting.

These results reflect the subjective experiences of the participants in the user testing. Individual results may vary.

Instructions for use

Place the Dynasit U dynamic cushion on the chair seat with the bottom surface and valve facing down, positioning the cut-out section towards the knees or in the opposite direction, depending on which position is more comfortable for the user. For haemorrhoids and immediately after childbirth, use the anatomically shaped cut-out area and sit in a position that avoids pressure on the rectal area and pelvic floor. When using the cushion for healthy active sitting, begin by sitting on a slightly inflated cushion for only 5–10 minutes at a time, 3–5 times a day. The amount of air in the cushion regulates the intensity of dynamic sitting. Sit on approximately two-thirds of the sitting area of the cushion and keep your legs slightly apart. We recommend keeping your feet flat on the floor. Sit in a relaxed position and allow natural changes in posture.

When first using the cushion, you may experience mild fatigue or muscle tension in the trunk and lower back, as these muscles may not yet be accustomed to active sitting. In this case, reduce the duration of use or decrease the amount of air in the cushion and increase the load gradually.

Using the cushion should not cause significant, sharp or persistent pain. If the pain worsens or you experience numbness or other unpleasant symptoms, stop using the cushion and consult a doctor or physiotherapist.

Certifications and registrations

Dynasit® U is a Class I medical device, CE marked and registered in the medical device database of the Slovak State Institute for Drug Control under code K92655.

The name of the medical device registered by the Slovak State Institute for Drug Control is “Podložka dynamická kostrčová DynaSit U”.

The surface material and colour printing have been tested by a research institute and are also suitable for children aged 0 to 3 years.

The Dynasit trade name is protected by a trademark valid throughout the European Union. The product shape is registered as a protected European design, as it is distinctive and was specifically developed to address painful sitting, including applications in gynaecology and obstetrics.

Contraindications

Dynasit U is not suitable for people with acute inflammatory conditions of the musculoskeletal or nervous system or for those experiencing dizziness. If you have unhealed fractures of the coccyx, spine or pelvis, do not sit on Dynasit! Using the cushion must not cause significant pain, numbness, dizziness or worsening of existing health problems. If any of these symptoms occur, stop using the cushion and consult a doctor or physiotherapist.

Care and maintenance

Do not wash the cushion in a washing machine! The sitting surface can be easily cleaned with a brush and soap. Do not sew anything onto the cushion! This could damage the inflatable part of the cushion. Keep away from sharp objects. Use the cushion at ambient temperatures between 8–40 ºC.
